Please read through our reservation procedure and the cancellation policy before calling.
Reservations for the following month are accepted from the 1st of the current month. We apologize that we cannot take reservations 2 months in advance. Thank you for your understanding.
For guests living overseas, we only take reservation through hotels. If you wish to make a reservation during a visit to Japan, please contact the hotel where you will stay in Tokyo and ask them to make the reservation for you.
If there are seats available, we will be more than happy to welcome you on the same day. So please, don't hesitate to contact us.
Reservations are accepted from 11:30am.

RyuGin will call you the day before your reservation to confirm if there are any changes to the number of persons in your party, time, or any additional ingredients that cannot be eaten.
If we cannot or do not reach you with the phone number provided to us for your reservation, we ask you to contact us the day before by 6:00PM to confirm your reservation.
In addition, if the day of your reservation is after the restaurant’s holiday, please contact the restaurant before the holiday.
Cancellations on the day of the reservation or if after the number of guests have been confirmed by phone and fewer guests arrive without notifying us, a cancellation fee for each absent guest will be charged (20,000 yen including tax). Please note and understand this condition.
Please also note that we have seating for only 24 persons and if we do not receive prior notice for any additional people, we may not be able to arrange seating for them so we must stress that you call us in advance to confirm additional guests.
When making a reservation for our courses, we ask each individual for foods you are allergic to (including alcohol) and foods that you cannot eat. For foods that you cannot eat, we will care for this by either substituting a different dish or removing it from the meal for each person individually.
However, RyuGin is a Japanese restaurant and to maintain our form,
- ・ You cannot eat fish at all. You do not want to eat fish (You cannot eat not only "raw" but even "cooked dishes")
- ・ You cannot eat any vegetables or almost all vegetables.
- ・ You don't want to eat fish and only want to eat meat.
- ・ You want to eat an all vegetable course.
- ・ You cannot have any bonito flakes, kelp, or seafood based stock at all
- ・ You have bean or gluten allergies and therefore cannot tolerate any amount of "soy sauce" and "miso".
- ・ You want to have the above readied for just one (portion) of your group.
Guests who ask for such requests will prevent us at RyuGin from responsibly preparing dishes that we feel are satisfactory and therefore we cannot accept such reservations.
Please note that if you are bringing guests that cannot eat or are allergic to many foods, please ensure that you let us know at least by the day before your reservations so as a restaurant, we can smoothly make adjustments. However, if you inform us suddenly on the day that you come to our restaurant, we can only handle the situation with what can only be possibly done on that day at that time in that timing. (During this, there will be no increase or change in the price of the course)
We ask for you kind understanding on this matter.
The tableware, the temperature of the dishes, with the brief moment of the flow of their fragrance...
At Ryugin, we do not only simply cook, but we convey to our customers, without leaving out any part, all aspects of the condition the ingredients bring about when they are plated and to have our customers taste them to their fullest... this is how we feel as we care for the essence of the ingredients.
As we captured that moment for each dish, we once again give life to the food and promise to deliver the strength that the ingredients posses.
This is the huge charm of Japanese cuisine, to even taste the feast that cannot be seen with eyes... This is that kind of sensation.
When customers take a camera in hand and try very hard to photograph the dishes before them, the valuable elements of the dishes as a feast, more and more are lost with each second passing.
Because we are receiving payment for our dishes, it is an unbearable sight for us to see as preparers of the dishes, when customers after taking so much time to photograph the food, for them to start eating the dishes that flavors have already past their peak. We feel much regret that only half of the taste is being conveyed to the customers and it is a sight we do not wish to see.
The temperatures, the flavors, the fragrance, and the way the dishes are cooked to a feast, we strive to serve the food just as they are prepared and bring them to you even a second faster so you may enjoy the food while still fresh and full of life and we wish you to experience with us, this disappearing moment. From the bottom of our hearts, we ask of you to enjoy this fleeting moment of luxury at its best temperature.
Instead of memories captured by the mechanical means of a camera and photographs, we would be most happy if you securely preserve the sense of reality of our dishes with the shutter of your eyelids and the film of your memory.
As we take extra care in providing the dishes that would stimulate all the senses in Japanese cuisine, we ask our guests not to wear perfumes and eau de cologne at all, which may compromise the experience.
We do not allow wine, Japanese sake, or any other beverages to be brought into our restaurant. We also do not discuss any fees for bringing in such items. Please understand that we are also unable to hold on to your glass cups, and liquor (sake cups).
Only children of age 10 years or older are allowed. (The basis for this is that same course dishes for adults will be served.)
We kindly ask for your cooperation.
